Regulatory Activities

LTCPA works with federal regulatory agencies that have authority over the provision of pharmacy services to ensure that the interests and knowledge base of the LTC pharmacy industry are utilized to inform guidance and rule making. The following section provides information on regulatory activities that directly impact the LTC pharmacy industry and the patients that LTCPA members serve.

Four key agencies are:

  • Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) within Dept. of Health & Human Services (HHS)
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
  • Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
